oBike Is Our New Kid On The Block(chain)

oBike, Singapore home grown bike sharing operator is set to be the pioneer in adopting the blockchain technology. Partnering with Chinese Blockchain platform, Tron, come first quarter 2018, its very own crypotocurrency, oCoin will be launched! 

So, stay tuned folks, our very own new kid on the Block(chain) is coming soon.

Besides Singapore. oBike has operations in more than 20 countries including Malaysia, Australia and Switzerland and over 10 million users. As per the report, with this partnership, user can ride and earn (oCoin) and use the oCoins to buy online content on Tron's platform. Tron has its own cryptocurrency, Tronix (TRX) and currently trading at US$0.04 with a market cap of US$2.6 billions. 

It's still too early to say whether this partnership will be a success but personally think that eBao has first mover advantage and definitely moving towards the right direction (especially from technology perspective). I hope this will encourage more sharing economy initiatives and have a win-win-win ecosystem. 

With this, I foresee that in the near future, citizen will need to cope with different cryptocurrencies for different user cases (purposes). You have been warned! :-)
